Chrysanthemum is in the Asteraceae plant family and is not a famous herb among the main stream compared to ginseng and ginger; however, chrysanthemums have some powerful properties that can make big changes in your health.

The name “chrysanthemum” is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower). Also known as, Ju Hua and Chrysanthemum flowers, there are about 30 different species of perennial chrysanthemums worldwide, 17 of which can be found in China, and traditional Chinese medicine uses 4 species for medicinal purpose. Sweet, bitter, and cool-natured, chrysanthemum has been used for hundreds of years in Chinese medicine and has the potency to treat respiratory problems, high blood pressure as well as to improve acuity of sight, subdue inflammation, and expel toxic substances.
