This 16th century formula was developed by the Ming dynasty physician Gong Tingxian and was originally published in “Bring Spring Back to Myriad Diseases.” Zi Shen Tong Er Tang is used to treat a deficiency in kidney and liver blood that is causing hearing issues, by nourishing the kidneys, dispelling heat, and nourishing and stimulating the blood.
